Multiplayer Problems?

Postby Machinist » Sun 23 Oct 2011 03:30

Trying to play a friend through LAN (hamachi) and all i get is steam is required, so basicly it comes down to my friend having to buy the game through steam which he didnt, retarded system tbh the game only supports multiplayer through steam as far as i can see and thats very dead.

If anyone knows how to get this working else wise people tell us.

On top of that everytime i looked for lobbys or tried to go on a ranked game its dead. (and i did buy it through steam)

Overall the game seems to me is lacking but i got suckered into it

Steam have an option to add games purchased outside steam to your steam account. You could ask your friend to try that.

Then I'm guessing your friend didn't buy the game at all. This is a Steamworks title and would have been on Steam by default no matter where he purchased a legal copy.
I have but two gripes: Lack of a demo (steam guest pass please); silly installation limit for a game that requires Steam

If the game is legal, then he has already activated it on steam in order to be able to play it.

Discussion of game cracks etc is absolutely not allowed here, so please don't pursue that line of conversation any further.

Yes, I do believe that the game has received a lot of negative reviews. I don't think there's anything that justifies pirating and then complaining that the pirated copy doesn't work though (in the case of your friend). I haven't bought the game yet, I'm still waiting for a demo. If they never release a demo or guest pass, then I'll just wait until it hits GBP 5 or less.

You can blame the fact that the game wasn't marketed so there isn't a large enough user base. Seems like the marketing team, isn't even open to the idea of offering Steam guest passes so that's unlikely to change any time soon. The developers seem to be working to fix the bugs though, so maybe in the future when the game gets cheaper and a lot of issues are fixed there may be more people to play with/against. Until then, you can check out the Steam groups and see if you can find anyone willing to play.

the majority of games support LAN play, the majority of games have actual people playing online through the matchmaking systems, the majority of games actually have people hosting games in the lobby.

anyone know if its possible to get a refund through steam im actually being serious btw
